First part of my rig upgrade was in Sept last year, almost 6 months later, it’s the second part of my rig upgrade. This time around I changed my graphic card from the Geforce 8600 to a GTX260, quite a big jump ^^.
There’s another reason for the GC upgrade, I ordered a Dell 2408WFP UltraSharp 24″ widescreen LCD last week, which should be arriving either end of this week or next monday.
My previous 8600 GC won’t be able to pump enough juice to run games on full resolution on the 24″, hence the need for a new card. Was thinking of getting a 9800GTX+ at first but I don’t think that have enough power for running full resolution game at 1920×1200 resolution, so upping my budget I got the GTX260 instead.
Enough rant, here’s some pics of the card and bundle ^^, with Shana-tan approval.
The card itself, quite long, had to move my two HDD lower in order to fit this baby in.
The bundle stuff, usual stuff like DVI to D-sub Adapter, DVI to HDMI Adapter, SPDIF Cable, external power cable. It comes bundle with Far Cry 2 as well.
The card in my system, manage to do some cable management when installing it ^^.
Tested it on some games, first test was on Devil May Cry 4
Tested with GRID as well, some of the screens were from the replay though, trying to control a car and taking screenshots at the same time is not advisable xD.
Since I got home quite late and by the time I finish install it was like 12 am, I didn’t really have much chance to play with the card. Oh well, will play with it more when my 24″ arrive, since the card won’t have a problem handling my 19″ 1280×1024 resolution.
UPDATES: Got my 24″ last Saturday, and here are some photo of my setup after adding the 24″ to it. It’s big and wide haha, took up quite a lot of space on my table. Watching animes and movies especially high definition version, it’s superb, add in 5.1 surround i probably can skip going to cinema haha ^^.
Watching the movie Next, quite interesting.
Playing Ironman, feel like rewatching some of the movies I got on my 24″ ^^.
