After our first exhibit at Anime Fest in June, we were looking forward to Comic Fiesta ’07 which was held at Times Square last weekend. After all it’s one of the bigger anime event to be held locally, which means more visitors and more cosplayers.
My company dinner was on the day before we were gonna be exhibiting, so I was dead tired when I was back, and had to pack up the 20 figures to I’ll be bringing to the event. All together I use 2 big boxes and 2 smaller boxes for transport my figures, they were all wrapped only in paper, I was praying the whole time that nothing breaks during transport. Fortunately my prayer was answered phew. Took a photo of the boxes before I left home in the morning ^^.
Lots of photos after the jump, 56kers beware ^^.
The turn out for the event was good, lots of people around and as usual our booth was quite crowded ^^ with visitors taking photos. There’s dslr, handphone cam, PnS and any other electronics that can be use to take photos.
The guy who made it all possible ^^.
Next time instead of just putting up strictly no touching sign, I think we probably need to put up becareful with your lens and elbow XD.
The crowds and the rows of figures ^^.
That’s the entrance to the hall, the place was quite pack, making it hard to move around.
More photographers, this time armed with dslr.
Some shots of the figures, didn’t take all of them this time.
While walking around I found a booth selling Gundam kits and they have this cool diorama on display.
Not sure what he’s suppose to be cosplaying, he was hanging around near our booth so I just too a photo of him. The armor is quite cool, now all he needs is a big ass sword.
Tried to take photos of the Hare Hare Yukai dance but lens not long enough, need a 75-300 maybe haha.
A girl singing, probably an anime theme I guess.
Some cosplayers photos that I manage to take, not much though, coz I lend my battery to another photographer, hopefully he’ll send some of the photos he took to me soon.
The aftermath, it’s time to go home, with everything pack and ready to go.
Some stuff that I got for free haha coz as usual I didn’t buy anything XD.
I find this event is much more exciting and happening than the previous one that we went to, probably coz they been having this for a few years now. The venue is nice and easily accessible, best of all the lighting is good, especially since our booth is near the window so we get some natural light as long as it doesn’t rain anyway.
There are more variety of cosplayers around, instead of just Naruto and Bleach, apparently there was a Shana but I didn’t saw her, though I did see Mikuru, see if you can spot her in the Hare Hare Yukai dance photos. Someone even setup a proper area for cosplayer to take photos, with clean background and lighting.
As usual our figures display are quite well received with lots of visitors taking photos. So this is something that we probably gonna do again, but definitely need to improve on the logistic haha, it’s still quite a nightmare XD. It was also great meeting some fellow figures collectors that visited our booth on that day, we should probably do a gathering of sort someday ^^.
