New Gears

Since it’s my b-day tomorrow, I decided to buy myself an early present, a quite expensive one at that but we just have to treat ourself to something good once in a while. Since this is a photoblog, I’ll just let the photo speak for themself.

Presenting the Canon BG-E3 battery grip for EOS 400D/Rebel XTi and the Canon EF 100mm Macro lens. Hit the jump for more photos and some test shots.

This is the older version of the 100mm Macro lens, without USM and with an extending barrel, other than that the quality is the same as the new version. I was hovering between this and a Tokina AF 100mm f/2.8 AT-X Pro D macro, try out both at the shop and found that I prefer the Canon one. Probably because I got used to using Canon lens, this is a used lens and slightly cheaper than a new Tokina AF 100mm. Built quality on the Canon lens seems to be better and heavier too.
