An indomitable gunner ~ Teana Lanster

Finally my first review of a figure from Alter StrikerS series, not Hayate though, since I don’t have a big enough setup to accommodate her I review Teana first instead.

Teana Lanster comes from the anime Magical Girl Lyrical Nanoha StrikerS, the centre guard of the new Forward Team in StrikerS. She uses Midchilda magic and is a Ground-B rank mage. Her Intelligent Device is a handgun named Cross Mirage which can duplicate itself for her to dual-wield. Besides her shooting magic, she also uses illusion type spells which was shown quite frequently in the anime.

Teana Lanster

Four of the StrikerS character have been released by Alter, I just own two though, and it has been very impressive so far. Of course Hayate would probably takes the cake for the WOW factor, probably only Feito or Nanoha can beat that but Teana is not bad either. Great sculpt, details and color makes her a must get for any StrikerS fans.

Teana Lanster

As with the rest of the StrikerS series figures, she comes with a white reflective base, with her name, and other information written on it. Just in case you can’t see it in the photo, here’s what’s written on the base;

An indomitable gunner
Teana-Lanster
Position belonging: Lost property Riot Force 6
Magic type: Midchilda
Wizard rank: Ground-B
Device: Cross Mirage (Intelligent: Gun)

She comes with two pair of hands, with each pair attached with Cross Mirage in different mode. A pair in normal handgun mode and a pair in dagger mode. Her barrier jacket is removable as well.

Being a 1/7 her detailing are excellent. The color are also great, and somehow I have always like Alter coloring better.

A closer look at her device, the blade is made of transparent plastic. If you notice from the photos, she’s holding Cross Mirage in a different style when you change it to dagger mode.

Alter gonna milk us StrikerS fans dry with their StrikerS figures, the prototype for Feito and Nanoha looks awesome, look here if you haven’t seen it, and they look expensive too. I already have Subaru on PO, which I believe gonna be great too, now we just need to wait for Alter to announce Erio and Caro.

The Setup
I wanted to make scene where Teana is fighting inside a building and the only thing I have are the walls that I use for my Mirei shoot last time. So I just use that plus a bit of props like crate, bullets and a steel rod to make up the set.

The main light source which is my flash in manual mode 1/128 power and it’s shoot through the windowed side and a reflector is on the opposite side to bounce the light back at Teana. My lamp is use to provide a bit of ambient light and also use to light up the blue part outside the window.

Forgot to take a shoot of the setup but then my setup are usually quite messy since it’s more of a trial and error thing. I wonder if anyone is even interested in seeing the setup XD.

Mika-tan updated her blog today with more photos of GSC 1/8 “World is Mine Miku” figure.

This time around we get to see her base in full glory. As you can see she’s nicely frame within her base, the frame looks wooden too. Quite beautiful.

Also on her blog is the recently release GSC 1/8 Horo figure and Nankyoku Sakura Goth-Loli Yukata Ver. Both looks pretty good from the photos.

Nendoroid, Figma and Hot Toys preview

More Nendoroid, Figma and Hot Toys coming our way. First up is Hot Toys 1/6 Wolverine figure, sculpted by Kojun and painted by JC Hong. The figure is based on the recent X-Men Origins: Wolverine movie, staring Hugh Jackman as Wolverine/Logan.

Was really looking forward for a preview of the figure when Hot Toys mention about it sometime ago, but a bit disappointed when I finally see it. I don’t really see the likeness of Hugh Jackman on the head sculpt, other than that the rest looks pretty good. Hopefully this headsculpt is not the final version.

Mika-tan updated her blog with Nendoroid Raspberyl from Phat’s Company. Raspberyl is from Disgaea 3 by the way and reservation for her will open on June 26th.

The Mysterious Bounty Hunter

Finally got the chance to do a photoshoot for my latest figure, it has been a long while since my last figure review xD.

Alter version of Yoko is vastly different from the rest of the Yoko out there, since she’s from an alternate universe and only appear for a brief moment in episode 26. Probably the only similarity with the rest of the Yoko is the sniper rifle she’s carrying. I really like this version of Yoko, cause she’s so damn cool looking ^^

Alter 1/8 Yoko Bounty Hunter Ver.

Yoko comes with a nice rock like base and a removable pistol. Sadly the sniper rifle is not removable, though it would have been nice if it was.

I just love long twirly windblown hair ^^

Detail, sculpt and paint job is top notch. Every crease line, holes on the jacket looks great. The belt itself is also nicely detailed.

Even the leather holster is nicely detailed.

The sculptor really did a great job in putting in all the details to this Yoko figure.
